Chill
A medley of gemstone beads such as citrine, rose quartz, amethyst, prasiolite make up this pleasant, pastel-toned 64 cm necklace called Chill. For more info on the necklace, please click on Details, and if interested in my musings, please go to Story.
The identification of the beads starts from the bead in the centre, moving upwards, with measurement for some of the bigger beads, with metal beads named last.

A few years ago, I bought a string of mixed stones in irregular shapes and recently thought I would string it up into a necklace for Manik, as they were.
I couldn’t resist ‘designing’ however, and took out some of the stones, bringing in other pastel-coloured and bigger stones from my collection. So, the rock crystal, the faceted rose quartz bicones, the prasiolite (light green) and the prehnite (green, with black spotty inclusions) are not from the original string of beads. Other stones in this necklace are citrine, agate, and amethyst. To keep it ‘light’ colour wise, I used 5 mm rock crystal beads as spacers. I then felt that it needed something more to break the ‘sameness’ of the pastel-coloured stones, and these 13 mm pale gold Italian metallised plastic beads (from the ‘90s) with a crackly pattern fitted the bill!
This asymmetric necklace has a relaxed, laid-back vibe about it, and I am naming it Chill, for being cool and laidback, easy to wear. It still makes a style statement however, because of the soothing palette of the stones and the more unusual shapes of the beads. Chill would work well with the pastels like cream, pink, baby blue but it would also go with stronger colours like navy, black, brown, as shown on the black necklace stand. Do play around with the colours. As is always my tip for asymmetric necklaces, try flipping sides when wearing the necklace to see which look suits you better! Enjoy!
