Trinity
Three different (naturally occurring) colours of the semi-precious stone tiger’s eye (coffee-brown, reddish brown and golden-brown) come together in this 74 cm long asymmetric necklace. For more info on the necklace, please click on Details, and if interested in my musings, please go to Story.
The identification of the beads start from the bead in the centre, moving upwards, with measurement for some of the bigger beads, with metal beads named last.

I remember tiger’s eye being one of the first few semi-precious stones that I knew of, and wore in a necklace, way back when… I love the swirls of colour in the stone, and the way the bead changes colour when you turn it around.
In the beginning, there was only the coffee-brown tiger’s eye that we are probably more familiar with. Then some years later came the reddish-brown, and more recently, I was wowed by the golden tiger’s eye that came on the market. I collected them all, so it seems inevitable I would design a tiger’s eye necklace. I eschewed a symmetric design, and also opted for a spaced out look with these brass coloured metal tubes from Japan. Given the size of my beads, a whole necklace of only the tiger’s eye beads would have been too much (and probably too heavy). Note that the cluster in the centre is a straight line, creating a different negative space, and this is by design.
I named this necklace Trinity because of the three colours of tiger’s eye beads used here. Trinity would work with a lot of colours from light to bright, to the darker colours (navy, deep jungle green, charcoal). As is always my tip for asymmetric necklaces, try flipping sides when wearing the necklace to see which look suits you better! Enjoy!
